Course Information

Program Goal: To give Case Managers information that is basic and hands-on when troubleshooting continence issues with members and clinical providers

Program Summary:
Incontinence is common in the disabled population and case managers field calls and make support visits on a daily basis. This presentation will give needed guidance as to how to talk about incontinence issues and provide sound advice to improve this condition. Useful techniques and practical examples will help both clinicians and non-clinicians. Troubleshooting methods will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives
At the close of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define incontinence and its relevance in children and adults
  • Identify complications due to unmanaged incontinence
  • Discuss techniques to better manage incontinence hands-on
  • Review problem solving methods useful in phone and in-person visits
