Course Description

Falls in the geriatric population are common, and are related to several assessment indices. This course examines the causes of falls, with an eye towards prevention. Risk factors, patient, home and work environment assessments, and the role of the nurse, therapist and social worker in the evaluation, prevention and treatment of falls are discussed.
